Das Dokumentationstool für C++ ("cppdoc") ist ein Programm, das fertige C++-Projekte durchsuchen und aufgrund besonderer Vermerke in den Beschreibungen der Dateien und Funktionen eine aktuelle Dokumentation in HTML erstellen soll. Um ein wenig Schreibarbeit kommt man auch mit diesem Tool nicht herum, aber es verhindert die Problemematiken der doppelten Dokumentation erheblich. Schnell wird einmal eine Änderung im Programm vorgenommen, die in der begleitenden Dokumentation nicht vorgenommen wird, und schon haben wir eine Dokumentation, die ungenau, nicht mehr aktuell und damit im Grunde wertlos ist. Durch den Einsatz dieses Tools ist diese Gefahr weitestgehend gebannt, da es die Klassen, Methoden und Funktionsbeschreibungen aus dem Quellcode ausliest, zuordnet und eine saubere HTML-Dokument

CppDoc generates HTML documentation for your C++ classes, based on your source code and special comments embedded within it. It supports JavaDoc tags (@see, @return, etc.) and can produce JavaDoc-style output, including class hierarchies, a master index, and a deprecations list. The documentation comments are optional; if you leave them out, CppDoc will still generate a full set of documentation based on class relationships and hierarchy.
